The Nunoo, Hare, Quartey, Tamakloe, Aryeetey, Ankrah, Mensah, Gibson, and Varney families announce with profound regrets the death of Mrs. Sarah D. Nunoo Varney of Harper City, Maryland County, LIBERIA in her 83rd year. This sad event occurred in Silver Spring, MD, USA in the early morning hours of Wednesday, March 2, 2022.
Sarah leaves to mourn her loss her children – Vera Gibson-Tarr, Jannie E. Bright, Marcus W. Bright (Nettie), Abraham Y. Tubman (Sayonnoh), Roseline Kumeh Nkum (Albert), Elaine J. Forte, Calvin R. Forte (Jeanie) and Hawah Varney; her siblings - Joseph Nunoo, Clement Quartey (Leslie), Theresa Myers, and Veronica Quartey-Gibson; her nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends in LIBERIA, GHANA, and the
UNITED STATES. She is predeceased by her husband (Charles B. Varney), her father (Joseph Nunoo Sr.), her mother (Esther Hare Quartey), her brothers (Hon. Emanuel O. Gardiner & Raymond B. Quartey), her sisters (Margaret Kelly, Mary Nunoo-Tamakloe, and Martha Thomson), her son (John Stemn Sr.) her daughters (Esther Hare, Beatrice Nyeka, and Cecelia Quartey), and her granddaughter (Abralyn Glenda Tubman).
