 Mr. Baseeru M. Sonii Sr.
The family of Mr. Baseeru M. Sonii Sr. regret to announce with sorrow the passing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, cousin, and grandfather
Mr. Baseeru Sonii was born on September 17, 1946 in Sinje, Garwula District, Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia. He returned to Allah on April 16, 2022 in Atlanta, Georgia USA.
Mr. Baseeru Sonii was a devout Muslim and a dedicated member of the Grand Cape Mount Association, Liberian Association of Metropolitan Atlanta, Booker Washington Alumni Association and an active member in the Liberian community. He received a scholarship to study at Chicago State University where he earned his undergraduate and post-graduate degrees in Electrical Engineering.
Shortly after, he returned to serve in his country Liberia. Later he relocated to the United States with his family where he lived until his departure.
His passion for soccer transcended through his membership in The Invisible Eleven known as I.E. He shared his passion for sports by coaching in the Peachtree Booster Club and playing on recreational volleyball teams.
He is survived by his children Boakai Sonii, Miatta Sonii, Maima Sonii, Baseeru M. Sonii, Jr. Jarsee Sonii, Satta Sonii and a host of relatives and friends in Liberia and the United States.
