Ms. Rebecca Leah Greene

The Greene, Kromah, Slocum, Stubblefield, Shavers and Steele families are saddened to announce the home going of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and Aunty Ms. Rebecca Leah Greene on Friday, May 27, 2022 in Columbia, South Carolina. Mommy, Sister Dear, Tashal, Aunty Rebecca, as she was affectionally called, was a devoted member of the Providence Baptist church in Monrovia, Liberia. She received her Early Education from St. Theresa Convent and graduated high school from Risk’s Institute in Liberia. Mommy later earned her degree in Administration from C.W.A Junior College. She was also a graduate of Mary Ann Cheeseman home Economics School, and Lincoln Clerical School in Liberia. Aunty Rebecca worked at Eunis Brothers, Bong County Agriculture and Development Project, Bank of Monrovia, and the Ministry of Information in Liberia.
She later relocated to the United States of America with her family. Mommy worked for the Columbia Urban League Inc. in South Carolina still her retirement. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her family, listening to gospel music, singing, caring for children, and learning new things. Aunty Rebecca was a humanitarian at heart. She will always be remembered for her loving, compassionate, generous, and humble personality. She was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Stephen Augustus Greene, her son, Bimba Kromah and her siblings, Ms. Luetta E Greene, and Mr. Lawrence W. Stubblefield Sr.
Mommy leaves to cherish with fond memories her children, Hawa M. Kromah, Attorney Shantal M. K. Toh (Patrick), Ciata S. Togba, Miama R. Kromah, Fermina S. Toe (Joseph) and John S. Kromah Jr; her Grand Children, Velda, Hazel, Leshan, Roosevelt, Mesheck, Joseph Jr., Marcia, Josiah, and Joshua; her Mother, Deaconess Leah Rebecca Greene; Her Siblings, Mrs. Bennetta M. Greene-Mensah (Reuben), Mr. Mazazus Nathan Stubblefield, Mrs. Thelma Stubblefield Saunders, Mrs. Theresa Stubblefield Jordan and Deacon Simeon K. Stubblefield (Nannie). Several nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends. She will truly be missed.
