MR. JOHN MOMO GBAKOYAH

It is with deep sadness that the Gbakoyah, Joepaye, Allen, and Dennis’ families announce the homegoing of our beloved husband, Father, grandfather, great-grand father, brother, and uncle Mr. John M. Gbakoyah. This sad event occurred on Sunday January 23rd, 2022 at the ELWA Hospital, Monrovia, Liberia.
Big Papa, Papa, grandpa, JMG as he was affectionally called served in various capacities in Liberia including Commissioner for Salala District 1976-1985, worked at Chase Manhattan Bank, Internal Affairs, and the Ministry of Finance. He was highly influential and contributed immensely to the growth and development of Bong County. He’s survived by his wife Mrs. Fatu Allen Gbakoyah, his children Jemima Johnson, Moses Gbakoyah (Mama), Martha Moore (Augustine), Henrietta Nanee Davis (John), Wilbur Papa Gbakoyah, Wilhelmina Cho-Cho Paygar (Andrew), Judy Tantu Ricks (John), Joyce Marbloe (Samuel), Soumah Pascal (Tonia), Fahnlon Gbakoyah (Famatta), Charlotte Wahn (Emmanuel), Mamatu King (Detoh), Kweeta Appleton (Lawrence), Johnette Cooper (Frank), Samuel P. Gbakoyah, and Fatu Baby-tu Gbakoyah; his sisters Sia Gbakoyah, Malomeni Gray (Samuel), and Belekulah Singbeh; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, many other children he raised, and a host of relatives and friends.
He is predeceased by his first wife Mrs. Mabel Aquila Flahn Gbakoyah; his daughters Mrs. Beatrice A. Washington, Esther Gbakoyah, Grace Gbakoyah; his son Emmanuel K. Gbakoyah; his parents and host of brothers and sisters.
