Father
C. Torbor Won
The
Won family announces with profound regret, the home going
of the family patriarch, Father C. Torbor Won, in his 84th
year. This sad event occurred at his Gardnersville residence
on May 16, 2008, at about 9:45 pm.
Socrates
as he was called, served with distinction in both the public
and private sectors in and out of Liberia, giving guidance
and counsel to the Liberian people and those he held so dear.
Before his death, it was father Won's wish that he goes home
just as he came into this world ; "a common man (without
profile)".
In
keeping with his wishes, the family honors his request that
a life sketch not be published commemorating his home going.
We his family and friends, know however that "common"
is not a word used to describe this "uncommon" man,
husband, father, brother, family member, friend, and public
servant. Though we will miss him, let us celebrate his life
and death with joy because God loves him best.
Father
C. Torbor Won is survived by his wife, Josephine D. Won, his
sisters, Won Tenneh, Won Weahdi, Theresa Doe Major, several
children, grand children, great grand children, nieces, nephews,
cousins, and the host of other relatives and friends, residing
in Liberia, USA, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, and other parts
of the world.
