Joseph Nimene Weagba

The Weagba and Saye families wish to inform family, friends and Well Wishers about the triumphant home going in his 74th Year of our Father Joseph Nimene Weagba, who died in Tonsberg, Norway on July 29, 2020 after a period of illness.

Our Father, after his graduation from St. Patrick’s High School in 1967, joined the Lamco Joint Venture Operating Company in Yekepa, Nimba County and rose through the ranks of Training Officer with the rank of Lieutenant in the Plant Protection Force (PPF), Labor & Wage Registrar in the Personnel Department, and Housing & Community Services Administrator.

The last position placed our Father in charge of all Lamco housing units, Vacation Job Employment Program, administration and maintenance of Lamco Sporting program and equipments, community beautification and cleaning, etc.

This Senior Management Post he held through his transition to Limco and until the 1990 Civil Conflict!

In October 1990, our Father moved to Ghana with his entire family and was one of the original occupants of the Buduburam Refugee Camp.

There he engaged in Pastoral and Social Works with St. Gregory Catholic Church and the Camp Management Team.

In September 2004, our father moved with his family to Vadso, Norway and settle there.

In Vadso, he studied and obtained certification in Business Management and Norwegian language.

He worked for several years until his retirement.

Our father was a Devoted Catholic and was part of many of its auxiliary organizations including the Legion of Mary, Lectors Ministry, Church Lay Leader, Knights of St. John, etc.

He was the Chartered President of the St. Paul Commandery #404, Knights of St. John (Yekepa), Charter Grand Trustee of the then Liberia Grand Commandery, Knights of St. John; Organizer of the Liberia Knights and ladies Association in Ghana, Lay Leader of the Catholic Church in Vadso and Tonsberg, Norway.

Our Father sponsored many Priests and is Godparent to Bishop Henry Aruna, Bishop of Makeni, Sierra Leone and Bishop Anthony Bowah, Bishop of Gbarnga, Liberia.

Our Father is survived by his wife of over 30yrs, Mrs. Marie Saye-Weagba, his Children: David Weagba (Liberia), EmmanueI Slewion Weagba (USA),  Linus Weagba Weagba (Norway), Mishel Fakateh Weagba (Norway), Aloysius Dugbeh Wesseh (Norway), Jeremy Konmlah Weagba(Norway), Josephine Slocum Weagba (USA), Joseph Nimely Weagba Jr (Norway), Leroy Saye Weagba (Norway), Jesse Goanue Comgbaye (USA) and Betty Weagba (Liberia);

Siblings: Rev. Jerry Kofa Weagba, Rev. Dr. George Klay Weagba, Nyonnoteah Weagba, Fakateh Weagba, Agnes Thomas-Bartuah (USA) and several In Laws, Grandchildren, Nephews, Nieces, Cousins and friends of Europe, USA, Australia and Africa! Funeral arrangements are as below:
