With profound sadness, the Toure and Mitchell families announce the sudden death of Mrs. Shirley Ann Mitchell-Toure. This sad event occurred in Ivory Coast on Monday, March 16, 2009.

Mrs. Shirley A. Mitchell-Toure was born in Monrovia, Liberia on March 26, 1957 to Evelyn and Samuel Mitchell. She was the youngest of five born to this union. She is survived by her husband, Hyacinthe A. Toure, her mother, Mrs. Evelyn M. Mitchell, her daughters, Stephanie S. Weeks-Obinyan (Paul) (daughter of Stephen Weeks) and Janice U.Y. Toure; her son, Yanel D. M. Toure. She is also survived by her grandson Jordan C. Obinyan, 12 sisters, 3 brothers, many nieces and nephews along with their offspring, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Shirley A. Mitchell-Toure will be laid to rest in the Ivory Coast, where she has lived for the past 25 years with her family.

Wake will be held Thursday, April 2nd, and Funeral services on Saturday, April 4th in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
