Menica Oliver Thorpe

Sunrise: October 9, 1964 Sunset: July 7, 2021

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot….a time to be silent and a time to speak,” Ecclesiastes 3;1-2, 7.

In sadness and reflections, the Jackson, Thorpe and Anderson families, regretfully announce the homegoing of their brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and grand uncle, Mr. Menica Oliver Thorpe, affectionately called Nic, Nica and Black Diamond. This transition occurred in Monrovia, Liberia on July 7, 2021. Menica leaves to mourn this loss, his siblings; Joshua F. Cassell, Jr. (Karen), Jackie Thorpe-Addy (Judson), Joyce Thorpe-Jones (Cyril), Aurelia Thorpe, Nathaniel Thorpe, William Thorpe, Rose Thorpe, Jonathan Thorpe and John Isaac Thorpe. Aunts; Sarah Mathis and Irene Wodo, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; Mr. N. Isaac Thorpe, Sr. and Mrs. Mary-Jane Jackson, Siblings; Naomi Thorpe-Cassell, Salome Thorpe and Lincoln Thorpe.

Funeral Services and Interment
Funeral Services to be held at the A.B Anderson Funeral Parlors, where restrictive governmental protocols due to the COVID-19 pandemic are being enforced on July 15th.

Interment to follow at the Thorpe Family Cemetery in Crozierville.

Menica, go now and take your rest. Only your God, our Heavenly Father knows. Lay your head upon your Savior’s breast. We bid you Good Night!
