Marie Momolu
Sunrise December 23, 1944 - Sunset September 29, 2021
With profound sadness and heavy hearts, the Momolu, Lackey, and Northam families announce the home-going of their beloved mother, sister, aunty, grandmother and friend, Marie Momolu. This sad event occurred on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, in Monrovia, Liberia, after a brief illness. Marie was predeceased by her parents, Yarkpazuo Veewu and Ma Miatta Momolu, two brothers William Wingate Momolu, Frances James Momolu, sister Fematta Momolu and her son James “Oldman” Lackey.
She leaves to cherish her memories: Daughters, Kpanah Taizu Lackey, Jetty Momolu, Josephine Lackey-Northam (Elwood). Grandchildren, Pearl Daybah Momolu, Ivy Tuazama, Charles “CJ” Bias, Jr., and Claudia Marie Northam. She also leaves to mourn her loss, her brother, Clarence K Momolu, several nieces and nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Marie left labor for eternity with lots of love and cherished memories of families and friends. She was an offspring from a great family line that extends from the beautiful shores of Sierra Leone to Liberia to the United States, and her flower will continue to blossom with a sweet fragrance around us forever. May her soul rest in perpetual peace.
