Mrs.
Gbessey Blackie Hunder-Keselley
The
officers and members of the Liberian Organization of the Piedmont
(LOP) based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, U.S.A. join
their bereaved president, Mr. James Y. Hunder, Sr. and: the
Hunder, Blackie, Flomo, Saye, Goba, Barclay, Richards and
Keselley families to announce with prayers of thanksgiving
the home-going of his/their beloved mother, grand-mother,
great grand-mother, aunt, grand-aunt, sister and cousin, Mrs.
Gbessey Blackie Hunder-Keselley- lovingly called:
"Ma-Gbessey".
She died quietly at about 10:15 P.M. (Liberia standard time)
on Thursday, November 6, 2008 in the home of her daughter,
Mrs. CeRue Hunder-Richards in Barnerville, Liberia. She was
in her late 70s. Ma-Gbessey was preceded in death by her first
love and husband, the late Honorable P.Z Hunder of Todee District,
Montserrado County, Liberia. Their union was blessed with
two children: Mr. James Y. Hunder, Sr. of Winston-Salem, North
Carolina, U.S.A.; and Mrs. CeRue Hunder-Richards of Monrovia,
Liberia. Ma-Gbessey is survived by her loving husband of more
then 45 years, retired Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL) Sergeant
Lawolo Keselley. Their happy union was blessed with four children:
Ms. Esther Keselley, Ms.Victoria Keselley, Ms.Hawah Keselley-Rancy
all of Liberia and another son, Mr. John Keselley who also
pre-deceased her. Other surviving children include: Mr. Frederick
D. Hunder, Sr. of the University of Liberia-Science College;
Ms. Musu Hunder; Mr. Nathaniel J. Hunder, Sr.; Mr. George
Hunder; and Ms. Yeagbey Hunder, all of Liberia. Also, Mr.
Arthur P. Hunder, Sr. and Mrs. Zoe "Tenneh" Hunder-Korti,
Mr. John T. Flomo, of Winston-Salem, Maryland and Florida,
U.S.A. respectively. She also leaves to mourn her death several
grand and great-grand children including: Mr. James Y. Hunder,
Jr., Ms. Joan Y. Hunder, Ms. Emily "Tata" Richards,
Ms. Cora Richards, Mr. Aloysius Richards, Mr. Lawrence Richards,
Mr. Solomon Richards, Mr. Frederick Dwalu Hunder, Jr.; Mr.
Kendwin D. Hunder; Ms. Sabah Hunder, Mr. Nathaniel J. Hunder,
Jr.-all of Liberia. Also, Mrs. Mina Hunder-Scott; Mr. Domah
Z. Hunder; Neke "Kpanneh" Hunder-Korvah and Denzel
Oliver Hunter-all of Atlanta, Georgia, and Texas, U. S. A.
Other
relatives include: Mr. Willie D. Barclay, Jr. Mr. Edward K.
Goba, Mr. Thomas V. Gbelee, of Liberia and Ms.Williete Etta
Barclay, Mr.&Mrs. Solomon Barclay; and Mrs. Rachel Goba
-of Maryland and Atlanta, Georgia, U. S. A.
Wake-keeping
over her remain will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2008
at 9:00 P.M. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. CeRue Hunder-Richards
in Barnerville, Monrovia. A service of celebration of the
virtuous life of the beloved, Ma- Gbessey Blackie Hunder-Keselley
will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, November 21st, 2008,
at the Tubman United Methodist Church, Weaver Avenue, Paynesville
City, Monrovia, Liberia. Thereafter, she will be laid to
rest in the J. C. N. Howard Memorial Site in Paynesville
city. Immediately following the Church service a Repast
will be held in Barnerville, Monrovia at the home of her daughter,
Mrs.CeRue Hunder-Richards.
In the United States of America, her son and daughter-in-law,
James and Massa Kennedy Dukuly-Hunder will simultaneously
receive family/friends at their home: 1516 Emerald Street,
Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27105, on the evenings of Friday-Saturday,
November 21 & 22 ,2008. Ma-Gbessey Blackie Hunder-Keselley,
"our love for you is as eternal as the winds!" May
your soul and the souls of all the faithful departed rest
in perfect perpetual peace!
