Ovetta
Sareta Nmano Jones Williams ("Teetar")
The
Williams, Jones, Benson, Diggs, Fahnbulleh and Shannon families
announce the death of Ovetta Sareta Nmano Jones Williams ("Teetar")
in her 48th year. Ovetta died at the Johns Hopkins Hospital
on Wednesday, August 6, 2008 at 5:23 a.m. in Baltimore, Maryland.
Ovetta
is survived by her husband of nearly 20 years, Charles Alake
Williams, her children Nadene, Hilary and Crystal and her
mother, Mrs. Alliette Jones; her father Cllr. M. Fahnbulleh
Jones predeceased her in 1992. Teetar's other survivors include
her siblings, Erwin, Varney (Joyce), Mohamedu (Sando), Joe,
Manfred, Cyril (Joyce), Enidmai (Emmanuel) and Edet (Rose).
Ovetta is also survived by Charles' uncle and aunt, I. Rimisa
Williams Sr. and Rhodel Williams, who were "loco parentis
"to Charles. In addition, Ovetta leaves to mourn her
many cousins, aunts, uncles, and other relatives (including
those of Charles with whom she was particularly close) and
multiple friends throughout the United States, in Liberia
and other parts of the world. Ovetta was an active member
of St. Thomas Episcopal Church when she lived in Liberian
and of St. Luke's Parish, where she sang in the choir, St.
Luke's Parish Singers. Ovetta was also active in the alumni
association of Convent and St. Patrick's and the Cape Mount

Requiem
Mass: A Requiem Mass for the peaceful repose of her soul
will be said on Saturday, August 23, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. at
St. Luke's Episcopal Parish (Anglican), 4002 53rd Street,
Bladensburg, Maryland 20710. During the Requiem Mass, entry
into the Church will be strictly controlled. Tributes during
the service are limited to the Cape Mount County Association,
Convent and St. Patrick's Class of 1977 and Teetar's family.
There are no exceptions.
In
lieu of flowers, the families ask that anyone who so desires
may contribute to an education fund for her 3 children (Nadene,
Hilary and Crystal). Teetar's children were the center of

Wake Keeping: A service of songs, praise and tributes will
be held at St. Luke's on Friday, August 22, 2008 from 6:00-9:00
p.m. All tributes other than those listed above will be done
during this period. We ask that everyone respect the dignity
of the service and its purpose and limit tributes to 2-3 minutes.
Tributes will be made in segments interspersed with songs
and praise. If you wish to be listed to make a tribute during
the wake, please email handeljundu@aol.com.

to St. Luke's: From I-495 (Capital Beltway), take the Baltimore-Washington
Pkwy (Washington South Exit 22B). Exit at MD 450 Annapolis
road and head west (turn right at the top of the ramp). St.
Luke's is at the corner of 53rd St. on the left.

Church), turn right on Quincy at the "Stop" sign,
turn right on 53rd St and at the summit of the hill, park
in the Church's parking lot on the left, on in the yard of

parking lot) or along 53rd Street on both sides in the direction
of the church. (DO NOT PARK IN THE MIDDLE OF THE STREET
-YOUR CAR WILL BE TICKETED AND TOWED)

Street, and turn left into the Bladensburg Elementary School
parking lot.

the Adult Education building.
