Irene Johnson

Sunrise: February 5, 1943- Sunset July 19, 2021

It is with a deep sorrow that the Horace and Johnson families announce the home going of their Mother, grandmother, Great-grandmother Sister, Aunt, cousin, friend Mrs. Irene Horace Johnson. This heartbreaking loss occurred on Monday July 19, 2021 In Dover, Delaware after a brief illness.

Mrs. Irene Johnson was born in Bensonville, Liberia, and later moved to Monrovia, Liberia. She worked at JFK Hospital in Liberia for 35 plus years before coming to the United States. Mrs. Irene Johnson was also member of Victory Chapel church located in Paynesville, Monrovia, Liberia. Not only was she a member, she was also very closed to the late Bishop Alfred G. Reeves and Mother Reeves. Mrs Irene love her Jesus so much that she would wake her grandchildren up early in the morning without giving them anything to eat just to be on time to decorate the church on Sunday morning. And when the children complain about hunger she would tell them “man shall not live by bread alone, but by every words that come out of the mouth of God” Till this date all her grandchildren that lived with her knows Matthew chapter 4:4.

Mrs. Irene Johnson impacted the lives of many, she was loving, always telling someone about Jesus, she was a loving and caring mother. She will truly be missed by her family friends and church members.

Mrs Irene Johnson is survived by her sisters Jemima Dumui, Selena Kaindoli, children Ellen Johnson Brigges, Vera Johnson, Vannah Robert Johnson Jr., Fatu Johnson, Aba Neal Tugbeh, Elarry Washington, 17 grandchildren 18 great grandchildren.
