Celebration Of Life Dr.(PhD) Winston R. Howard, Sr.
The Howard, Snyder, Phillips, Goba, Maximore, Minor,Weaver, Outland and Gibson families announce the peaceful transition of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend and loved one, Dr. Winston R. Howard, Sr. who was affectionatly called Dad, Bob Win, Uncle Winston, Cousin Win, Dr. Howard and Our Hero. His peaceful passing occured on June 15, 2021 in Atlanta Georgia, after a protracted illness.
He was born on March 24,1956, in the than Paynesward City that was named after his late grandfather, Hon. J.C.N. Howard, Sr., but was later re-named paynesville. He embraced the Christian Faith at a young age at the Effort Baptist Church in Paynesville City. He lived with his late mother, Mrs. Louise Howard-Phillips and his late grandfather, Hon. J.C.N. Howard, Sr., most of his childhood and adult lives. He was predeceased by both of his parents and his grandfather.
He started his primary education at the J.C.N.Howard Kindergarten School in Paynesville City. During his early years, he was sent to England for schooling where he attended the All Boy's School in South Croydon, England. Upon his returned to Liberia from England, he enrolled at the St.Patricks High School in Monrovia, Liberia where he attended and graduated in 1974.. After his graduation, he relocated to the United States of America to further his education and was enrolled at the University of North Texas where he studied for sevaral years and earned sevaral degrees: a BBA. Degree in Business, a dual Masters in Vocational Education and Special Education. Because of his loved and passioned for education, he decided to deepened his knowledge to facilitate and enhanced his Teaching Career by furthering his studies at Agosy University in Florida, where he earned his Doctorate in Education and graduated with Magna Cum Laude. He worked and taught in the Public School System in North Carolina and the Atlanta Public Schools for many years up until he retired in May 2021.
He leaves to cherish his unique legacy, his beloved wife: Mrs. Barbara S. Howard, his children: Winston Howard, Jr. ( Rose), Mr. Kwame Howard, Miss. Ikhaeer Howard, Miss. Cyannah Howard and Miss. Kyanna Howard and two grandchildren. His siblings, Mrs. Gabrielle Phillips Black ( William), Mr. Gabriel Phillips, Jr. ( Yamah), Mrs. Cyanna Phillips Urey( Andrew), Mr. Sean Howard ( Sundine), a hosts of relatives, friends and loved ones in the Caribbean, England, the United States of America and Liberia respectively.
Winston, Dad, Bob Win, Dr.Howard, you positively impacted countless lives by your extrodinary love, care, compassion and kindness.You will forever be in our hearts as a God-fearing man, a good father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, a genuined friend and a philanthropist. Therefore, Portions of your legacy have already been established and secured in the establishment of the Abraham Lincoln Howard Memorial Public Library. The First Public Library that is being built in The City Of Paynesville, Republic Of Liberia. ( Dr. Winston R. Howard, Sr. Memorial Educational Foundation). This portion of the establishment will primarily reinforced, enhanced and facilitate the educational system of the Community as well as the entire Country, Liberia.
