Melvin Dexter Gooding

Sunrise: November 16, 1983 Sunset: December 8, 2021

“I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day – and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for His appearing”. (2 Tim. 4:7-8)

The Gooding, Paasewe, Karneh and Hughes families announce with deep sadness the homegoing of our beloved son, sibling, nephew, cousin and uncle, Melvin Dexter Gooding. This sad event occurred on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at his residence in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, United States of America.

Melvin leaves to mourn his memory, his parents: Mr. Maxwell Gooding Sr and Mrs. Bendu Paasewe-Karneh Gooding; 5 siblings: Linda, Maxwell II, Monique, Maurice, Maxwell III, Benxel and host of relatives in the United States, Liberia and Ghana, West Africa.

Melvin was hardworking, determined, generous, gentle, loving, resilient and most especially, he had a humble spirit. He was a fun person to be around which earned him host of friends and peers.

He will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving and supportive son, sibling nephew, cousin, and friend to many. His smile could light up the room and he was a delight whenever he had the opportunity to spend time with families and friends. Melvin always took over the grill during family gatherings.

Well done good and faithful servant, now the laborer’s task is o’er, go and take your rest until we meet again. Sleep well, sleep well, until we meet again.

With never-ending gratitude, our families wholeheartedly thank everyone for their expressions of love and sympathy since Melvin’s tragic home-going.

Due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, social distancing and wearing of mask will be maintained and strictly enforced.
