Franklin Thomas "Papie" George

The George, Blassinggim, Simpson, and Freeman family along with the Liberian community in Georgia regretfully announce the death of our beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend Franklin Thomas George. This sad event occurred on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Gwinnett Medical Center in Duluth, Georgia at 4:42pm.

He leaves to mourn and celebrate his life his mother Ellen Blassinggim-Roberts, brother Emmanuel G. George, sister Mrs. Linda Simpson McKeever, grandmother Victoria G. Freeman, aunty Comfort Freeman Sambola, nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, Nigeria, USA, and England.

Franklin's true passion was writing and spreading his love for the Lord through songs. He composed and arranged many songs. To further display his love for music, he formulated the idea of forming a mass choir to be a voice to his songs. On July 7, 2007, his vision came true when he brought together several different church choirs to perform for the first time at his first gospel concert. The choir is now known as the Liberian Mass Choir and is directed by Mr. Paul Muah and Mr. Samuel Banks.

He was a loving, caring, and God fearing man and will live on in the memories and hearts of the many people whose lives he touched with his music and beautiful character. He was remarkably talented and a truly blessed man. He will be greatly missed.
