It
is with profound sadness that we announce the
passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother,
aunt, and cousin, Grace Blyondi Darbeh (affectionately
called MAMA).
Her
earthly journey ended on Monday, August 1, 2011
at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence,
Rhode Island.
Mama
was born and raised in Maryland County, Liberia,
and migrated to the United States in 1988 with
her husband, Amos S. Darbeh, and mother, Lucy
Karlo Cole; both predeceased her. She was the
devoted mother of Theresa Hoff (husband Prince)
of Providence, Elizabeth Toby of Providence,
Sarah Payne of Philadelphia, PA, Maryann Darbeh
of Providence, Eric Darbeh (wife Agnes) of Minnesota,
and Kardi Darbeh of Providence, RI. She is also
survived by 28 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren,
a niece of Baltimore, MD; a nephew and niece
of Providence, Rhode Island and a host of relatives.
