The Matriarch of the Curran Family - A mighty woman of God, pillar of strength, and beloved daughter of Kpaiyea, Lofa County, Liberia has transitioned from this world to her heavenly home in glory!

The Curran, Johnson, Jensen, Cole, and Yangai families of Lofa and Bong Counties, regret to announce the peaceful home-going of their beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Edith D. Curran, who received her heavenly wings and a crown of glory on October 14, 2021.

Mother Edith Curran devoted her life to caring for others as a beloved registered nurse and midwife at the Curran Lutheran Hospital in Zorzor, Liberia. As the first person in her family to attend school, she  was a staunch believer in the power of an education and personally financed the education of the next generation of children in her family. She was a fearless evangelist and missionary who shared the love of Christ and the free gift of salvation with everyone she met.  Mother Curran was a difference maker and her presence will be dearly missed!

She leaves to mourn her children Rennie and Josie Curran, Demoe Lady Johnson (Oliver deceased), Esther Curran; grandchildren Joan Curran Darkortey (Rufus), Musu Okeleji (Dr. Wale), Rennie Curran, Jr.; Duma Nimley, Olivia Johnson (Moses), Olive Johnson, O’Vanjah Johnson; Alfred Jalabah (Keisha), Joy Seton, Joel Seton; Amelia Addy (Adolphus), Julius Paul Kpandee, and a host of  great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and relatives, including Duma Jensen, Stephen Jensen (Jane), Yarmah Jensen, Peter Curran, Peter Mulbah (Alice), James Cole, Wilson Cole, Wilson Tokpa, Dr. Sakui Malakpa, in the United States, Liberia and throughout the world.
