TLC Africa 2008

The Chesson, Diggs, Clark and Otu families hereby announce the death of Evangeline ("Sister Diggs") Chesson. This sad event occurred on Sunday, April 6, 2008 in Newark, Delaware.

Evangeline was born to the union of Thomas E. Diggs and Victoria V. Clark in Kakata, Liberia, the second of five children. She is a graduate of the Gbarnga Methodist Mission in Gbarnga, Bong County, the College of West Africa high school in Monrovia, Liberia, and the University of Liberia (B.S.) in Monrovia, Liberia.

By far the most important event in her life, however, was her baptism in September 1974 as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. For many years thereafter, she served periodically as a fulltime evangelizer, both in Liberia and in the United States. At the time of her death, she continued to serve as a faithful member of the Wellington, Manassas congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses in Virginia.

She is survived by her husband Mozart Chesson of Virginia, her mother Victoria Clarke-Diggs of Delaware, her children - son-in-law & daughter Rockie & Hadassah Otu (Delaware), Jahyue Futrell (Virginia) and Clarence Wesley (Georgia), her siblings Joseph T. Diggs, Yassa Christine Diggs, Enolia Diggs-Wong, Bennie Diggs and Multtee Randall. Her aunts Mrs. Elizabeth Roberts, Angeline Clark, Joanna Natt and Martha Koryua.

Other siblings and numerous close relatives and friends including: Mintchen Randall, Anthony Randall, Matthew Clarke, Ted Diggs, Olive Diggs, Yassa Mehn, Amelia Sirleaf, Della Diggs, Estella Diggs, Marjuahn Wright, Ronald & Vickie Wilson (Delaware) and Isaac & Jebeh Otu (Delaware).
