Windell Quinn Oscar Celio (Papie)

Sunrise: February 26, 1974---Sunset: September 29, 2021

‘For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's’. -Romans 14:8

It is with deep regret and profound sadness that we, the Celio, Bright, Gibson and George families announce the sudden passing of our son, grandson, brother, nephew, uncle, and cousin, Windell Q.O. Celio. This devastating event occurred on Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at the John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital in Monrovia, Liberia. Windell, commonly known as Papie, was born on February 26, 1974, in Harper City, Maryland County, unto the union of Princess B. George and Leon B. Celio, both of whom predeceased him.

Windell was honest and humble, and he cared deeply about others. He was quiet, intelligent, and dependable. Papie had a spirit of excellence, gave his all in everything he did and always went the extra mile to achieve and gave more than what was expected of him. Many were drawn to him by his good nature and sweet and affable personality. His sudden passing has left us devastated and in utter shock. We were not prepared to say our final goodbye, but when the Master beckoned, he slipped away. Windell’s demise is an irreparable loss, and he will be sorely missed.

Windell leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife, Zena; son, Windell; grandmother: Annie G. Hamilton, stepfather: Joseph B. George; his siblings: Oliver, Jackie, Simeone (Daniel), Nyemade (Joseph), Zahn (Abigail), Cornelius, Stephanie, Justine, Adeline (Kristy) and Anna; his aunts: Martha, Florence, Thelma, Violet, Gwen, Aba and Jacqueline (Bill); step siblings: Nyenekon and Jude: uncles: Richard (Laurinda), Anthony (Charlotte), and Francis (Kebbeh). Also mourning his loss are his grand aunts, several nieces and nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, the United States, Ivory Coast and elsewhere around the world. May his soul rest in perfect peace.
