Theodore Maxwell Carter, Sr.

SUNRISE 12/17/1946 – SUNSET 07/26/2021

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we the Carter, Dorley, Zawoo, Cassell, Washington, Dukuly, Jah, and Gray families announce the death of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend Theodore “T. Max” Maxwell Carter, Sr. Theodore “T. Max” Carter departed the world stage on Monday, July 26, 2021, at the Rhode Island Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island, USA.

He was predeceased by his father John Kajaliah Carter, his mother Betty Doryen Carter, his brothers and sister: Morris D. Carter, Elijah S. Carter, Mary M. Carter, Josiah C. Carter, Enoch Carter, and his son, Theodore Maxwell Carter, Jr.

Theodore “T. Max” Carter touched the lives of so many people with his beautiful, cheerful spirit and vibrant personality. Our humble and loving patriarch will be profoundly missed. The passing of Theodore “T. Max” Carter is immeasurable, but the imprints he has left on our hearts are undeniable. Sleep on beautiful soul!

He leaves to mourn his wife of 45 years, Hawa Dorley Carter. His loving children: Christina Carter, Mabel Carter Zawoo, Arthur Bayo Benson, Ruby Carter, Doryane Betty Carter, and Tamara M. Carter. His siblings: Martha M. Carter, Theresa N. Carter, Nathaniel S. Carter, Jacob K. Carter, Victoria T. Carter; grandchildren, great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends in the United States, Liberia, and abroad.

Funeral Arrangements:
PLEASE BE ADVISED that the Prayer/Wake Service and the Funeral Service will be held at the SAME LOCATION.
**Due to the increase in COVID cases, we are requiring everyone that will be attending both services to PLEASE wear masks and/or face shields.
