The children, family and friends are sadden to report the death of their Mother, Grand Mother, Sister, Aunty and Daughter Haja Sallay Kanda Massaquoi Boima
This sad event took place on the 13th of October, 2021, after a brief illness in Monrovia Liberia.
Haja sallay lived life fully always determined to succeed in whatever endeavour she pursued. She had a strong Islamic faith and attended the mosque wherever she lived and was an active member of the Brixton Mosque in London, England where she spent a significant part of her later years.
Her Life in London and time spent with her children and family in America provided her with many comforts, but her heart was always with Sierra Leone and Liberia where she called home.
Family was important to her, she was a strong pillar of her family and several family members lived with her, Mama’s memory will live on and she will never be forgotten by the lives of those she touched, she will be solely missed.
She is survived by her children Wenifred Sallay (Adolphus), Catherine Baindu, Tommy Rex Boima (Lucinda), Faima Saffie, Miatta (Leo), Joseph M Jr, Varney, Musa Wilfred (Josephine), Twenty-two grandchildren and one great grandchild. Also mourning her death are; her two sisters Jebbeh and Margaret [Mamanyon], her sister and brother in laws Hawa, Watta, Ansumana Boima and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. The Brixton Mosque in London, England, families and friends she met whilst in the USA, all mourns her death.
The paramount Chief of Sorogbema Chiefdom, PC Mustapha Jenje Massaquoi, the town Chief of Sulima, Shiaka Massaquoi, the entire Massaquoi family, the Kpakra family of Matengbema Peri chiefdom, the Kpaka/Rogers family and the Koroma family, etc, are deeply sorrowed by the death of one of their strongest family pillar Haja Sallay Kanda Massaquoi Boima.
Haja Sallay is predeceased by her husband Joseph M Boima, her sons Sonny Boima and Tommy Kpaka.
Haja Sallay will be laid to rest in her hometown of Sulima, Pujehun District, Sierra Leone on Friday 22nd October 2021.
Rest in peace Mama, grandma, auntie, sister and daughter of the Massaquoi, Kpakra, Kpaka/Rogers Clans. Your life was not in vain -we will miss you and you will never be replaced.
