Helena ToeWelleh Boe

It is with deep sorrow that the Boe and Toe families announce the homegoing of our family’s matriarch, Helena Toe Welleh Boe (a.k.a. Oprah). This somber event occurred on the 9th of July in Roswell, GA.

Mrs. Boe was born in Grandcess, Liberia and later moved to West Point, Monrovia where she met her husband Francis S. Boe in 1963. They eventually resided in Smell-No-Taste where they grew and raised their family.  Once Mrs. Boe started working at Robertsfield International Airport, she had the foresight and vision to start traveling to the United States. Mrs. Boe was the beloved wife of Mr. Francis Serwro Boe;  A loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and relative of many in Liberia, the United States of America, and other parts of the world. She was 71 years young.

Prior to coming to America, she attended the All Saints Parish in Unification Town (Smell -No-Taste), and was an active member of Our Lady of Consolata #370, Ladies Auxiliary, Knights of St. John International (KSJI).

She was a devoted Catholic and an active member of the Our Lady of Divine Shepherd (OLDS) Ladies Auxiliary #598, New York Grand Ladies Auxiliary, District # 9 , as well as United Grandcess Community Association and Liberian Community Association of central Central New Jersey and metro. She was a founding member of Women of Success an organization that help young girls to go to vocational school. She promoted this cause since it was launched  on May 9th, 2021, with five young girls as benefactors. She impacted the lives of many, she was a loving and a caring mother and truly will be missed by her family, friends and church members.   

Mrs. Boe is survived by her husband Francis S. Boe, children – Julia Nmahdi Boe, Agatha Bonyone Boe, Veronica Koffadi Boe, Timothy Serwro Boe Jr., Theophilus Wreh Boe and Helena Wrehdi Boe; nineteen (19) grandchildren; six (6) great-grandchildren and a host of relatives including her siblings, James Nyanfor Toe, Joseph Nimely Toe and Mombo Toe Massaquoi., among others.
