Mr. Stephen Tokpa Akoi

The Akoi, Tennie, and Deeganmanie (Vezalleans) families announce the homegoing of our beloved father, brother, uncle, and grandfather, Mr. Stephen Tokpa Akoi. This sad event occurred at his home in J.J.Y, Gardnersville Monrovia Liberia on Sunday, June 13, 2021. 

The late Mr. Stephen Tokpa Akoi is survived by his wife of (57 years) Korpo F.T Akoi, four children; Teresa M. Akoi-Sarkorh, Fredrick G. Akoi, Comfort K. Akoi-Siodlarz, and Stephen Z. Akoi. Sibling brother Selmah Akoi, and one sister who predeceased him. Seven (7) grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, sons in law, daughters in law, and a host of relatives and friends of the USA and Liberia. 

The late Mr. Stephen Tokpa Akoi was an educator at C.D.B. King Elementary School, G.W. Gibson Elementary School, and B.W. Harris Episcopal High School. He also served as a program evaluator of the IEL/PEP with the Ministry of Education prior to him taking the leadership counseling position at the Refugees Office in Macenta, the Republic of Guinea from which he retired. He was a member of Good Shepherd Episcopal Church in Paynesville Monrovia, Liberia. 

Funeral Service:

Funeral services for the late Mr. Stephen Tokpa Akoi will take place at St. Moses Funeral Parlor on Saturday, July 17, 2021, at 10 am. 

Interment will follow at Johnsonville Cemetery. Johnsonville city, Monrovia, Liberia.

Lastly, due to Covid-19  all attendees must wear a face mask and observe all the health guidelines and protocols of  St. Moses’ funeral home, the Ministry of Health, and the Government of Liberia.
