Snap Shots from a trip to Lofa County, Liberia

March 2008

Lofa County, Welcomes you

This section is dedicated to the hard working people of Lofa County. The bread basket of Liberia

The hoop in this man hand is the hoop used to climb the palm tree to cut the palm nuts. If you don't know what you are doing when climbing with the hoop, you could fall and seriously hurt yourself.

My motel room in Voinjama. Thanks to this USAID funded project, we were able to rent motel rooms for $15.00 (US) a night. We thought $15.00 was expensive for basic accommodations, but I was glad that it was there. The rooms and bathroom were clean and the motel was safe. that was all I needed. We had electricity until 10:00 pm then I switch to my flashlight, a necessary tool in West Africa.
