Between
2006 and 2010, the transformation that
is occurring in the city of Monrovia is
fascinating and exciting to witness. There
are 3 areas in which the transformation
is visible:
1.
Cleanliness of the City - All areas of
the city are cleaner Trash is being collected
from the yellow trash bin, City corporation
workers are sweeping the streets and some
people are beginning to take a role in
cleaning the public space in front of
their properties. There are sill problems,
but the volume of trash that was once
a part of the Monrovia landscape is gone.
2.
The road repair adds so much to the improved
look of the city. And although the roads
have not been repaired in some of the
areas we will show in this series, we
know it is coming and when these buildings
are completed and the streets they are
on repaired, these areas will have a very
new look.
3.
The biggest boom in Liberia right now
is the construction boom - Throughout
the city, people are either renovating
their old buildings, or breaking them
down and building new taller structures
in their place.
In
this series, we will look at new construction
of apartment buildings in Sinkor, Payne
Avenue, Warner Avenue and Tubman Blvd.
areas.
