HATTIE LOUISE YATES
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the Yates, Brown, Cooper, Jackson and Taban families announce the homegoing of their beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt and cousin, Hattie Louise Yates (also lovingly referred to as “Grandma” and “Lady Yates”). Hattie went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 1, 2017, in Monrovia, Liberia, at the ELWA Hospital after a protracted illness.
Hattie was a wonderful and gentle person who was always willing to help anyone with whom she came into contact. She was also known for being smart, dedicated and successful in all her endeavors. She was blessed to have lived a life enriched with God’s love and surrounded by people who treasured her friendship.
Family members who predeceased her include her parents, Charles and Ada Yates; her brothers, Anthony Augustus and Charles Edwin; and her sister, Darling Dorothy. She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Sandy, Diamond, Paul and Princess; her brothers: Bill (Esther), Solomon, Steven, Konor and Varney; her sisters: Mornia, Louise (David), Edna (Astra), Mengee, and Korto (Jerry), and a host of uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
