Nokee Gwee Wright

It is with deep sorrow and profound regret that the Wright, Deputie, Yalartai, and Gray families, along with the Liberian community of Connecticut announce the untimely death of our beloved father, son, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin, Nokee Gwee Wright. This tragic event occurred on Saturday, June 30, 2018 in West Haven, Connecticut. “Uncle Nuke/General” as he was affectionately called, was generous, sympathetic, respectful and humble. He loved his family and friends without bounds. His affectionate and warm smile touched many hearts and made him much beloved by his family and friends. Uncle Nokee’s departure is an irreversible loss and our hearts are deeply broken. He will be greatly missed by everyone who came in contact with him.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rev. James D. Wright Sr. and Florence K. Wright. Siblings: Gloria Wright and Francis Wright.

He leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his sons, Thomas F. Wright of Liberia, James N. Wright (Jean); Granddaughter Florence Wright; Siblings: James Deputie, Mark Deputie, Eunice V. Wright and Comfort K. Grant.  Cousins: Alvin Wright, Jacob Okai, Bennett M. Yalartai, William Johnson, Bishop Harmon D. Yalartai, Saturday B. Yalartai, his nephews Francis Gray Caleb H. Yalartai, nieces and a host of other relatives, extended families and friends.
