MAGGIE
TEDE CLARKE WILLIAMS
Our
Mammie, grandmother, great-grand mother, sister,
aunt, cousin, in-law, dedicated servant of Jehovah
God, Educator, Nurse Midwife, a woman of strength
and virtue, disciplinarian, outspoken believer,
friend, now rests peacefully to await the promised
day of Resurrection. Her faith in Jehovah never
wavered; she was ready, and transitioned peacefully
in the comfort of her childrens home, Reston
, Virginia , on the early morning of Thursday,
August 11, 2011 , at 4:55AM .
The
granddaughter of the late John Gba-Doe Wallace
of Springhill, Maryland County, and Harriet Prowd
Wallace of Hoffman Station, Maryland County, Maggie
was born to the union of Edward Tumu Clarke &
Lucy Wallace Clarke on June 24, 1925, in Springhill,
Maryland County, Liberia, She was the third of
six children: Samuel, John, Maggie, Julia, Anthony
and Annie. Her parents and three siblings (John,
Anthony and Annie) predeceased her; Husband Frank
Tai Williams in March 1997; three daughters, Daphene,
Helena, Charlotte, and grandson Adrian Thompson
in August 1993.
Maggie
Tede Clarke Williams is survived by her loving
children: Leona Williams Washington (Victor Washington);
Wannie Williams Sele (William Bill);
seven grandchildren: Joyce, Tede, Maude (Edward),
Archie (Bridgette), Kpadepah, Jahsee, William
Sele, Jr.; five great-grandchildren: Nevonne,
Adrian, Kelvin, Le-elen, Arthur; one brother,
Samuel Clarke of Monrovia, Liberia; one sister,
Julia Clarke Ryan of Staten Island, NY; foster
children to include: Vivian Gray Ali, Monica Davis,
Wannie Bannie Akoi, Julia Collins, Eric Dennis,
Shadrack Dennis, Anthony Williams, Dio Williams;
one sister-in-law: Grace Williams-Collins; several
nieces and nephews to include: Leo Brown, Edward
Clarke, Audrey Ryan, Doris Ryan, Venus Wilson
(Kevin), Rita White; several cousins here in the
United States and Liberia to include: Frank O.
Wallace, Sr.(Evelyn), I. Wenceslaus Wallace (Cecilia),
Elizabeth Wallace Seth, Honourable George Wallace,
Ambassador Alexander Wallace, Harriet Girty
Wallace Taylor, Mary Yudeh Cummings, John Cummings,
