The Weeks, Phelps and George families announce with profound gratitude for a life well lived, the transition of Monroetta Georgia Vamah Phelps Weeks, on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, at 3:05 post meridian in Raleigh, North Carolina, as her children blessed God in prayer and song.
She is survived by her children, James Milton, Jr., Aurelia TdeKontee Louise Curtis (Alfred, Jr.), Monroe Phelps, Christine Edith, Linda Anasthasia, and Sayngee Martha; sisters, Naquitta Phelps Street, Corann Phelps Okorodudu (Abraham-deceased), Juliette Phelps Maxwell, Vireder Phelps Pederson (James), Beryline Phelps Togba (John), and Esther Richards; sister-cousin, Lovest George Jones; sister-in-law, Letitia Reeves; brother-in-law, George Henries; niece-daughters, Antoinette Weeks, Mahdea Belleka, and Kanda George; grandchildren, Israel Micah, Alfred Boima Curtis III (LaTonya), Ijos Marcel, Eden Phelps, Vanessa Okale-Weeks, Tiffany Ashley Curtis, Gillian Marie Curtis, Shadia Christine-Renée, Lawren Michelle Koffa, Anne-Yael Okale-Weeks, and Asa Thaddeus-Phelps; great-grandchildren, Jaselle Nicole Ferguson, Karter Jaxson Stewart, and Andrew Braylon Curtis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and life-long friends who loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband James Milton Weeks; grandchildren, Jared Micaiah, Arielle Melody, and Joshua Blaise Okale-Weeks; parents, Martha George and Monroe Phelps; sisters, Oretha Phelps Cole, Maude Phelps and Marjorie Phelps Henries; and brothers, Charles Hansford, Sr., Eden Reeves and Lance Phelps.

SERVICES:
A requiem mass and celebration of her life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2020 at 11:00 ante meridian at Shrine of St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 12701 Veirs Mill Road, Rockville, MD 20853. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
