THE WEEKS AND COOPER families announce with regret, and yet with adoration to Almighty God, the passing in her ninetieth year of our dear mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and cousin Mrs. Angelique Eupheme Geraldine Cooper Weeks. This transition occurred at 12:58 a.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2016, at the Congotown residence of her daughter Angelique Eupheme G. Weeks II. She is survived by her children Rocheforte L. Weeks, Jr. (Hawa), Ophelia I. Weeks, Julius L. Weeks, Vittorio A.J. Weeks (Vivian), Daubeny Alexander Weeks (Sombo), Angelique Eupheme G. Weeks II, Milton A. Weeks (Arnette), Ronauld A. Weeks; grandchildren Rocheforte T. Weeks (Sudi), Jande Weeks, Wlaa Bartholomew Weeks (Brady), Saira Piment Weeks, Mikhail F. Weeks, Wede A. Weeks, Renée F. Weeks, Jeremiah A.B. Weeks, Vinise W. Weeks, Fiona C. Weeks, Ella S. Weeks, Rocheforte A. Weeks; great-grandchildren Jazmyn R. Weeks, Toriano J. Weeks, Leo A. Weeks, Renée P. Weeks, Madison V. Weeks; one sister, Mrs. Trypetus Cooper Padmore; three brothers Messrs. Gerald F.B. Cooper (Roberta), Randolph C.J. Cooper (Eudeen) and Seward M. Cooper (Anne); sister-in-law Mrs. Monroetta G. Weeks; other children Preston Padmore (Grace), Erna Weeks, Brendell Davis, Terrence Weeks, Lucretia Weeks Mattar (Michael), Rhoda Weeks Brown (Lionel), Jarsie Weeks, Rochelle Eggimann-Weeks (Michael Eggimann), Madia Weeks Malik (Adolph), Nathaniel Weeks, Lela Weeks and Kimmie Weeks; 21 other grandchildren; and 10 other great-grandchildren. Numerous beloved nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, godchildren and a host of many other relatives and friends.
Her husband Dr. Rocheforte L. Weeks, former President of the University of Liberia and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, R.L.; parents Dr. jur. Daubeny Bartholomew Cooper and Mrs. Emma Juliet Cooper (née Stewart); step-mother Mrs. Daphne Trypetus Cooper (née Gibson); brothers Counselor E.J. Llewellyn Cooper, Sr., and Mr. Daubeny B. Cooper, Jr.; sisters Ms. Maryland Ophelia Cooper and Mrs. Latifa Cynthia Sivinia Cooper Kamara; other son Sammy Weeks; step-daughter Bendu Weeks; and granddaughter Chyam Weeks, all predeceased her.
Funeral Arrangements
On Friday, October 21, 2016 at 4:30 p.m., her remains will be taken from the Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Parlor, Sinkor, Monrovia, to the Trinity Cathedral, Broad Street, Monrovia, where a vigil service will be held from 6–9 p.m.
On Saturday, October 22, 2016, at 11:00 a.m., funeral service will be held at Reeves Memorial United Methodist Church, Crozierville, Montserrado County, where her remains will be interred.
