 Honorable Scott Gblorzuo Toweh
It is with deep sorrow and regret that the Toweh, Vaye and Klee families announce the sudden home-going of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Cousin, the Honorable, Minister Scott Gblorzuo Toweh. Honorable Toweh passed away on May 7, 2014 at the Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, U.S.A. after a very brief illness.
He was born to the union of Honorable Chief Johnny Gblorzuo Toweh and Mrs. Matee Toweh of the Boe & Quila Chiefdom. His father was a long serving member of the Liberian legislature. Both of his parents predeceased him.
Honorable Toweh received formal education at Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata, Liberia; ORT NATHANIEL in Israel; North Carolina A&T State University, Greensboro, North Carolina; and North Carolina State University, Raleigh, North Carolina. He earned Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees respectively in the field of agriculture at these universities.
Hon. Toweh descended from a long line of traditional royalty in Liberia, Hon. S. Gblorzuo Toweh devoted his professional working years as a public servant. After serving as a school teacher and soccer coach in his native Tappita District, he later moved into the ranks of national government where served the Liberian people in various capacities including Minister of Agriculture, Minister of Posts and Telecommunications; Deputy Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Urban Reconstruction; and Director of Cooperatives in the Ministry of Agriculture among others. He was very well travelled and very committed to serving his people.
Hon.Toweh leaves to cherish the precious memory of his unconditional love his beloved Wife, Mrs. Kaymahe Vaye-Toweh; Children: Tuku Toweh, Annette Tarawali, MacNeil S. Toweh, Mildred Toweh- Scholte (Alex), Teebeh Toweh-Tah (Richelieu) and Laywor Toweh; Grand Children: Mehedi Ali Mourtada, Michel Champ Tarawali, David M. Domensea , Samuel Toweh, Richella Tah, Richelieu Tah Jr., Rudelle T. Tah, James N. Domensea and Steven G. Domensea; Uncles: including Dr. Daniel B. Toweh (Margaret), Aunts: including Mary Q. Toweh: brothers including Honorable Ricks Toweh and hosts of relatives and friends in the U.S., Liberia, other African countries, Australia, etc.
