Christian Monroe Tolbert

The Tolbert, Graham, Hall, Dickson and Dennis families announce the celebration of the home going of Christian Monroe Tolbert. Uncle Christian as he was called by his loving relatives, was born November 27, 1927, unto the union of Daniel Frank Tolbert and Melinda Graham Tolbert, in the Township 0f Bensonville, now Bentol City.
Uncle Christian was the youngest of their six children and the last surviving of Daniel Frank’s children. He started his primary education in Bentol City and later enrolled at the Lott Carey Baptist Mission School where he spent several years. He later moved to central Monrovia and later graduated from St. Patrick’s Catholic High School.
He was blessed with one daughter, Christine Melinda Tolbert, mothered by Magdalene Padmore of David Town. Christine Melinda left this world at the age of 34 years old. On January 27, 1997, Christian married Beatrice Tolbert. Later that year he moved to the United States where he remained for 30 years. He returned to Liberia January of 2017 and reunited with his only granddaughter, Christina, his grandson in-law Patrick and his four great grandchildren and also his nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives.
The late Christian M. Tolbert embraced Christianity at a very early age and joined the Zion Praise Baptist Church in Bentol City where he served in several capacities. He gave his best to the community service and later served as Deacon until his home going on July 23, 2020.
The late Deacon Christian M. Tolbert leaves to mourn his passing, his Zion Praise Baptist Church Family, granddaughter Christina (Patrick), his son-in-law Paul Dickson, his great grandchildren, Christine Sikloh, Ciara Sikloh, Patrick Sikloh and Britney Sikloh and his foster and step children. Also mourning his loss are his many nieces including Ayodele, Elaine, Celestine, AC, Martha, his many nephews including Ernest, Caesar, Franklin, Robert, Samuel Ford, his cousins and many relatives and friends in the U.S.A. and Liberia.
The remains of the late Deacon Christian M. Tolbert will be remove from the Alfred N. Butler Funeral Home Service, Barnerd Farm Community, on Saturday August 8, 2020 at 9:00 a.m. and taken to the Zion Praise Baptist Church, Bentol City, foe funeral service.
Interment follows immediately there after at the Tolbert Graveyard.
