 Mother Caroline Elizabeth Oswald Tisdell
January 26, 1928 – December 3, 2019
The Tisdell, Howard, Oswald, Minor, Martin and Nwaobi families announce the transitioning from Earth to Heaven in her 91st year, our dearest Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother and Distinguished Matriarch of the Family, Mother Caroline Elizabeth Oswald Tisdell, affectionately called T-Caro, Teacher Caroline, Mama, Small Ma, Grandma, originally from the cities of Marshall and Paynesville, Liberia. This peaceful event occurred on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Oak Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Mother Tisdell is survived by her children Beatrice Seton Martin (Clarence*), Gertrude Minor Nwaobi (Joe), Charlie Tisdell, Jr., and Oretha Tisdell. Twenty-Seven Grand Children, Fifty-Four Great Grand Children and Eight Great Great Grand Children, and a host of relatives and friends in USA, Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria & UK.
Small Ma was predeceased by her Husband, Charlie Tisdell, her Father, Hermann Augustus Oswald, her Mother, Sophranio Beatrice King Howard, six children, Hermann Minor, Frances Minor, Georgia Outland, Buster Flood (Margaret), Ivan Outland and Alfred Outland.
Teacher Caroline was a patriotic and dedicated Educator who impacted many lives in Paynesville, Liberia. Mother Tisdell was a staunch member of the Tubman United Methodist Church in Paynesville from 1946 until her departure to the United States of America.
The remains of Mother Tisdell will be removed from the Clark S Brown & Sons Funeral Home and taken to the Goler Memorial AME Zion Church on Saturday, December 14, 2019 for Visitation and Funeral Service.
