The Sunday, Sleweon and Tay families are deeply saddened to announce the untimely and unfortunate death of their beloved husband, father, uncle, brother, and cousin John Narrold Sunday.
Special Assistant to the Minister of Youth & Sports Republic of Liberia. This sad event occurred on Monday July 6, 2020 in Monrovia, Liberia.
John attended our Lady of Fatima High School in Harper, Maryland County and is a graduate of the class of 1986 College of West, Monrovia, Liberia. He was a senior at the University of Liberia pursuing degrees in Economics & Accounting but due to the Liberian civil war he traveled to Ghana and completed his studies in Political Science & Economics at the University of Ghana, Legon.
John immigrated to the USA in 1996 and the enrolled at the Kogod School of Business at American University in Washington, D.C. He held an MBA in Finance and Accounting in 1999 and several certifications in International Auditing in the proceeding years.
He later joined the Henry M. Jackson Foundation for Advance Military Medicine, an international organization based in Bethesda, Maryland where he worked for many years. He frequently traveled to Europe and Africa auditing large Health projects that were set to improve health outcomes for many people around the world.
John is predeceased by his father, Reverend Joseph W. Sunday. He leaves behind cherished memories with his wife Hannah Ama Sunday, his children Stephen Ampadu, John Sunday Jr., Marcel Lovie Sunday, his mother Elizabeth Sleweon Sunday, sisters: Janice, Ruth, Bernice and Lucy along with his brothers; Joseph and Abraham as well as nieces, nephews, uncles, aunties, cousins and close friends.
The passing of John leaves us grief-stricken and shocked. This irreparable loss has created a feeling of emptiness that will not be filled anytime soon. His vibrant, lively, energetic, spirit and his profound intellect along with the joy he shared with us will linger in our minds and hearts forever.
We aim to honor his memory in peace and respect.
