 The Late Fanny Sie-Yene Bedell Sirleaf ( May 18, 1918 – May 31, 2015)
The Sirleaf, Bedell, Bryant and Brownell families announce the home going of their dear mother, grandmother, great grand mother, aunt and cousin, Mrs. Fanny Sie-Yene Bedell Sirleaf at the age of 97 years. She passed away peacefully at 8:32 P.M. on Sunday May 31, 2015 at the J.F.K Hospital in the city of Atlantis, Florida.
Fanny was a devout Christian and a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on Broad Street, Monrovia Liberia.
Fanny obtained her High School Diploma from the College of West Africa and later attended the University of Liberia where she obtained a Bachelor Degree in Education. She later matriculated to the Indiana State Teacher’s College in Indiana, USA and graduated with a Masters Degree in Education . Mrs. Sirleaf was a veteran educator and worked with the Department of Education for many years. She was one of the first Principals of the Monrovia Consolidation School System (MCSS).
Fanny Sie-Yene Bedell Sirleaf was predeceased by her husband, Mr. Ambolai V. Sirleaf, and her sons, Zwannah Sirleaf Sr. and Richard C. Sirleaf.
She leaves to mourn her loss and celebrate her life her children: Comfort Bindu Burphy (James), Francis R.A. Sirleaf (Mengee), Fatu Sirleaf Boyd (James), Rosamond Horton Perkins, Armah Sirleaf (Phebian) and Salia Sirleaf(Lydia); One daughter- in- law: Mrs. Maakai Sirleaf; nephew: Ernest George Bedell, Jr. (Brenda); nieces: Denise Bedell and Selcon Bedell Barnard(Elijah), & cousins: Mary T. Bryant, Dr. Kate Bryant, Comfort H. Jones and J. Wah-Doe Bedell; twenty seven grand children twelve great grand children and a host of relatives in the USA, and Liberia.
May her soul rest in Peace!!
