Miama Cooper Thomas Simmons      

Sunrise june 7, 1948 - Sunset December 27 2018      

When peace like a river attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll, whatever my lot , thou has taught me to know it is well , it is well , with my soul.    

The Cooper, Thomas, James, Talery, Moore, Browne, Wuar, Richards, and Jones families, announces with heavy hearts, the death of Miama Cooper Thomas, Simmons. This very sad event occurred in the hospice unit of Philadelphia in less than twenty hours of admission.

Miama was born unto the union of counselor Momolu S Cooper and Marvine S Cooper whom predeceased her. Her siblings Momolu S Cooper jr, Precious B Cooper, Merlene Gbarbea, Lincoln Cooper, Grandparents James and Gertrude Talery also predeceased her.  

Our Ma, Sister Miama, Aunty Miama leaves to mourn her loss, her children Henrietta Knux Thomas, Marvine Lisa Cooper, Charles Robert Thomas, Angelica Thomas, Tenneh Jones Wuar , and Charles Momolu Simmons. Her grandchildren Alexander Boakia, Tiara Thomas, Tatiyana Laylor, Taviana Thomas, Evan Falla, Rolandell, Merell, and Sahvelle Wuar, and also Charneze Thomas. her great grandchildren Jade, and Jayce Boakia.           Also to deeply mourn her are her brothers and sisters, Hawa Brown, Jonathan James, Ellen Moore (kojo) Oliver Cooper (Ciata) Daniel Cooper, Marvis Cooper, Kartumu Boakia (Joe) Anastasia Richards (Sam) Gertrude Jones (Ernest) Lafayette Cooper (Ruth), Gertrude Jelly Doe, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

Miama started her early education in London England, and later attended Laboratory high now Known as Tubman High. She worked at the department of Public Works in Monrovia Liberia for several years prior to travelling to the United States.      

Miama was a very loving and faithful Mother, Grandmother, Aunty, Cousin and Sister. Her demise has left a hole and emptiness in the hearts of her family and friends. Rest in perfect peace our beautiful Angel. Fly away until we all meet again

Funeral date is January 26, 2019, viewing is 9am-10am, funeral starts at 10am
