It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that the Sherman, Cooper, Barclay, and Sirleaf families announce the homegoing of our former Deputy Chief of Protocol, Arthur Robert Sherman Jr.

Son of the late Arthur Sherman, Sr. and Martha Cooper Sherman, Arthur was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. His peaceful transition occurred on the evening of April 21, 2020 in Monrovia, Liberia.

He leaves to mourn his three children – Arthur Marc Sherman, Arianne Sherman Adams, and Derrick Sherman; one foster son - Alexander Sherman; ten grandchildren – Marc Jalen Sherman, Asia Rai Sherman, Jordan Sky Sherman, Raine Alexia Sherman, Myles Asa Sherman, Leila Soleil Adams, Samara Anise Adams, Diallo Montell Sherman, Della Marie Sherman, and Damari Malik Sherman; one brother - Roger F. Sherman; one sister - Avril Sherman Caesar; six foster siblings; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and a host of very dear friends and loved ones around the world.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a private ceremony will be held at Samuel A. Stryker Funeral Home on Monday, May 4, 2020. A memorial service in celebration of his life will be announced at a later date. For further information exclusively contact the family members listed below.
