JOYCE AMA (DORSLA) SEGBEFIA

The Segbefia, Olympio, Amankwah, Hutchison, and Grant families regret to announce with great sadness the untimely death of Joyce Ama Segbefia, which occurred on Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center in Woodbridge, Virginia, after a short illness. Mrs. Segbefia was 78 years old.

She leaves to mourn her death her daughter, Evelyn Amankwah of Woodbridge, Virginia; her son Derek Segbefia of Luton, UK; her brother Francis Segbefia of Worcester, Massachusetts, her adopted children by marriage: Prince Dorsla, Irene Dorsla, and Ruth Dorsla (USA); her grandchildren Leona McNeal, Michael Adadevoh, Amanda Dorsla (USA); Michael Awuley Clottey (Ghana); Alex, Renee and Naomi Segbefia (UK), Jared Suku Dorsla, and Ryan Dweh (USA); and her great-grandchildren Zoey McNeal and Avon Sammie Kollie. She also leaves to mourn her death several cousins, nephews, nieces, and a host of relatives in the USA, Ghana, the UK, and Liberia; many devoted friends; and several adopted children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Segbefia was predeceased by five of her children: Ernest, Barbara, Willie, Kofi, and Germaine. May her soul and the souls of her departed children rest in perfect peace.

Wake and Viewing
Friday, February 19, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm

Saturday, February 20 at 10:00 am

Friends and sympathizers are invited to join the family for a repast immediately after the funeral service (about 1:00 pm) at The A & C Banquet Hall, 12740 Darby Brooke Ct, Woodbridge, VA 22192 (approximately 5 minutes from the funeral home).
