Kurla Kamah Sando

This is to announce the death of our mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother, Mrs. Kurla Kamah Sando, affectionately known as Ma-Hawa, who passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on May 5, 2020 at 4:00 PM EST, at the home of her first child, Mrs. Leah Dorley Sando, in Riverdale, Maryland USA.
Ma Hawa leaves to mourn her passing, 3 surviving siblings, Ma Bendu Morris, Mr. Varney Larjay Morris, and Mr. Josephus T. Ansumanah. She is also survived by eleven children including: Leah B. Dorley Sando (Harry Sando), Matenneh Dorley Suah (Pape Suah), Morris Ansumanah, Albertha Tata Johnson (Emmanuel Johnson), Darkinah Dorley, Comfort Boima, Philajua Boima, Jebeh Boima Johnson (Varney Johnson), Zoe Boima, Ciatta Boima Sherman (Gai Sherman), and John F. Boima.

Her grandchildren include: Gbelley T-Girl Taylor-Sawah, Alexander “Nush” Tarpeh, Jr., Fatumata Dolleh, Ciatta Kabongo, Garmai Kamara, Kati Delon, Bianca K. Sando, Mass Wortee, Winnie Yates, Alonzo Johnson, Tracy Johnson, Tasha Johnson, Hawa Johnson, Macia Johnson, George M. Boima, Cristel Boima, Calvin Sherman, Stella Sherman, and Massa Dorley.

Her Great-grandchildren include: Sabelle, Bo, Armah, Anthony, Ava, Ashton, Olivia, and Oliver. Ma Hawa is now reunited with her husband Mr. George Boima and her daughter Massa Boima-Delon.

Ma Hawa will greatly be missed for so many reasons, she will particularly be remembered for the opened arms and generosity with which she welcomed everyone she came to meet. She was the pillar of a large family in the US and Liberia.

Due to the restrictions imposed because of the Covid 19 outbreak, Ma Hawa will be laid to rest in Maryland, USA at a private ceremony. A memorial service will subsequently be held at a later date
