Mrs.
Leona Gibson Perkins
March 25, 1936 - December 12, 2009
The
family of the Late Leona Gibson Perkins of Paynesville,
Kakata (BWI) and Bong Mines, Liberia and Birmingham,
Alabama (USA), announces with deep sadness the
home going of their mother, grandmother, sister,
aunt and cousin. This very sad event occurred
in the early morning hours of Saturday, December
12, 2009 at the JFK Medical Center in Monrovia,
Liberia.
Mrs.
Perkins was proceeded in death by her husband
Jefferson A. Perkins, Sr; her son Jefferson
A. (JA) Perkins, Jr; and her daughter Aquila
C. (AC) Perkins.
Teta,
as she was affectionately called by many, leaves
to mourn her loss her children Lenus Perkins
of Birmingham, Alabama, Michelle Lee Batie Perkins
of Birmingham, Alabama, Yardley Perkins of Monrovia,
Liberia, Agnes W. Perkins of Monrovia, Liberia,
Eddie A. Perkins of Atlanta, Georgia, Lue Monii
Perkins-Garnett (Dave) of Laurel, Maryland,
B. Bennie Perkins (Alliette) of Minneapolis,
Minnesota, Rose Perkins of Monrovia, Liberia,
Harriett Perkins Tate of San Diego, California,
Bendu V. Perkins of Detroit, Michigan, Samuel
Perkins (Rebecca) of Monrovia, Liberia, Wilmot
Harris (Ann) of New Jersey, John Alphanso D.
Perkins (Roselyn) of Monrovia, Liberia, Gertrude
Cain of Monrovia, Liberia and Otis Dorley Mars
of Monrovia, Liberia. Teta is also survived
by seven sisters, three brothers, several grandchildren,
nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins, and a host
of relatives and friends.
