Honorable John Pius Kwesie Onumah

The Lord is my shepherd Psalm 23:1

It is with profound sadness that the Onumah, Flamma and Travers families announce the home going of our beloved and exceptional husband, father, brother, grandfather , and uncle. He answered the call to be with his Lord, in his 92nd year on March 2, 2017 in Princeton N.J.

Honorable J. Pius Onumah was a career professional, who served his country over a period of 30 years. He was well known for his lack of compromise, when it came to his set of values. He strongly believed in honesty and integrity. He served the Government of Liberia in may capacities, including an appointment as Assistant Minister for Administration, Ministry of Agriculture.

The Late J. Pius Onumah also contributed, to the development of the private sector in Liberia in the legal field. He trained as a lawyer, and began his legal career at the Cisco Law Firm in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County. Later, he partnered with his friend in establishing the Peabody & Onumah Law Firm in Monrovia Liberia.

He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Albertine Travers Onumah; his children - Clarence Onumah (Vera), Nathan Onumah, Gabriel Paul, Aba Onumah-Sellu, Ama V. Onumah, and Dr. Neh J. Onumah. He was also survived by his brother S. Essilifie Onumah; his grandchildren Precious Onumah-Hazel (Kojo), Trochon, Adoley, Joyce, Oscar, James, Rachael, Rhonda, Dekontee, Amose, John, Moses, Mangee, Napoleon, Nelly, Gabriel Jr. Gwendolyn, Jacquelyn, Evelyn, Blessings and Christian; 10 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives in Liberia and the U.S.

He was a strong Christian and a humanitarian.

Daddy, you will always have a special place in our hearts, we love you dearly. Rest in perpetual peace.
