The Kamara, Gray, Salami, Barclay, Karnga and Murray families announce with profound sadness the homegoing of their dear Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend, Mrs. Rose Jamels Salami-Karnga Murray. This sad, but “precious in the sight of the Lord”, event occurred on the morning of May 7th, 2019 at the Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Murray was predeceased by her parents, Faefae Quoi-Barclay and Elias Salami of the Salami Brothers, (a well-known and leading trio of Lebanese traders who conducted business in Liberia between 1898 thru the 1960’s) and her husband, Rufus Murray.
Mommy”, “Grand Mom”, “Gran” “Ma Rose” and “Sis. Rose”, as she was affectionately called, leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memories, her daughter, Portia Gray-Kamara (Amos Gore); Children: Anthony Kerkula (Vicky) Amelia-Gray-Moore ( Ruben), Joseph Togba (Tenneh), Massa Gray-Cassell ( James-deceased); Grand-children: Jamillia Nyanpu Kamara, Gore Kamara Jr, John Yourfee Kamara; Rugar Moore, Ruben Moore, Edna Cassell, Acaroous Gray, Amelia Gray; Bobby Togba, Thomas Togba, Anthony Kerkula Jr, Gerard Kerkula, Assata Kromah, Amanda Kerkula, Aaliyah Kerkula; Siblings: Anita Doe Hargrave, Sando Moore, Elizabeth Barclay, Victoria Barclay, Dada Flomo, Maeve Karnga; Special nephews and nieces: Albert Moore ( Beatrice), Kpannah Sartee (Danny), Faefae Peal (Prince) Walter Moore (Comfort), Motima George (Joyce), Jackie Hanes; Special Kin: Lucia Jackson, Lydia Hoggard, Shata Cooper, Joseph Scott, Beatrice Scott, David Mayango (Nancy), Thelma Sampson, Maryann Richardson, Adjuah Jackson, Mama Jalloh, Dr. Glenn Moore, Rebecca Varney, Satta Taylor, Edna Jebbeh Forkpa, Katharine Breeze, Beatrice Nmah, Beti White, Charles Kamara, Ma Musu Daguseh, Izetta and Lasanah Kamara, Shiwoh Kamara, Golaybah Kamara, Dr. Patricia Divine- Jackson, Rovina Wleh, Roselyn Gray, Victoria Dukuly, Cokie Nanka, Amanda Lawrence, Alfreda Taplah, Ms. Joyce and a host of other relatives and friends residing in the United States, Norway and Liberia.
Mrs. Rose Murray was a selfless, nurturing, supportive, doting and precious mother, grand-mom, sibling, aunt and friend; whose love, friendship, kindness, compassion and caring knew no bounds! She will forever be remembered on this side of glory, even as she rests peacefully in the Lord, until we meet again. To God be the Glory!!!!
