Stevens-Morris

After
her courageous battle with stroke, the late
Rachel Stevens-Morris joined her Savior on December
17th, 2011, at the age of 75. She met her illness
in the same way that she lived her life, with
cheerfulness and humor, aiming to put a smile
on others' faces. Born in Brewerville, Liberia,
West Africa to her beloved parents, Melford
Charles Stevens and Rachel Dennis-Stevens. She
became a law enforcement officer with the Republic
of Liberia National Police Force, Monrovia,
Liberia, West Africa, in 1972.
During
the 1980’s and 1990’s civil un-rest
in Liberia, she moved to the United State of
America, Her lifelong passions included baking,
cooking, needle arts, and in her earlier years.
She was a strong woman who was loved by her
family and all who met her. In her later years,
she became a committed member of Silver Mount
Baptist Church, Charlotte, NC and loved her
role as a prayer warrior. She shared her tremendous
love of her Savior with all who would listen.
She
was adjoined in death by her sister and brothers,
late Quillens Stevens, Edwin Stevens, Candace
Stevens-Patray, daughter Catherine Morris-Crosby,
son David whi and grandson Duke A. Morris. Her
surviving sibling consists of Rev. Mother Eliza
Stevens, Staten Island, USA and Richard Stevens,
Monrovia, Liberia, West Africa, surviving children
James A Shannon, Agnes Brown-Remmie, James H.
Brown, , Dixon B. Brown, Juanita Brown-Tamba,
William C.A. Banks, Jr. Amy Banks-Kromah, Yama,
the host of relative, grandchildren, great grandchildren,
cousin, nephews, nieces and friend.
A
service will be held at Silver Mount
Baptist Church, 501 West ARROWOOD RD, CHARLOTTE,
NC, 28217 Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 9:00
