CATHERINE ELIZABETH PELHAM MONGER
November 26, 1928 - March 12, 2020

The Monger, Pelham, Montgomery, Greene, Morris, Roberts, Dickerson, Brown and Mensah families announce, with both sadness and hope, the passing of our Matriarch and Mentor Mrs. Catherine Elizabeth Pelham Monger on Thursday March 12, 2020 at Baptist Health, Paducah Kentucky.
Mrs. Catherine Monger is the Widow of Judge Jonathan Abraham Monger and
the daughter of the late Elizabeth Ann Montgomery and T. Cess Pelham.
She was an outstanding educator, serving in various capacities in Home Economics- teacher, curriculum developer and Principal.
She was unquestionably a very gifted seamstress.
Mrs. Monger loved and embraced education and encouraged her students, children, grandchildren and everyone she came in contact with to do the same.
In addition to her husband and parents who predeceased her, Mrs. Monger was predeceased by four children: William Monger- who died in infancy, Professor Harold Jonathan Monger, Hon. James Saydee Tiah and Catherine Elena Monger Dixon along with two grandchildren Nadine Monger Esq. and Abraham Kronteh Monger.
Five of Her siblings, Samuel Pelham, T. Cess Pelham Jr., Charlotte Pelham, J. Chancy Roberts, and Ethel Roberts Cooper predeceased her.
She leaves to mourn her loss and cherish her memory two Children: Johnette Monger Mends-Cole (Urias) and Emmanuel Hardy.
Grandchildren: Saydee Mends-Cole, Dekonti Mends-Cole (Gareth Potts)
Urias Mends-Cole 11(Corey), Harold Monger Jr. (Jebbeh), Nyenatee Monger (Sonnie), Sonya Monger Mason (Eric), Sacha Monger, Deweh Monger, Clarice Dixon, Nancy Dixon, Urias Hardy, Spencer Hardy; 9 great grandchildren 1 great great grandchild, and a host of relatives- nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Mrs. Monger also leaves to mourn her passing her Jehovah Witness brothers and sisters who provided a loving and caring community for her in Paducah, Kentucky her adopted home.

Burial will follow immediately after the service in Paducah, Kentucky.
