The Williams, Minor, King, Cephas, Benson, Weaver, Nelson, McGee, Brown and Earley Families announce with profound sadness the untimely home going of Sophie Loraine Minor. This sad event occurred on Thursday, November 22, 2012, at her home in Loganville, Georgia, USA.

Sophie leaves to mourn her lost and to cherish her memory, her husband Charles H. Williams, Jr., her beloved daughter Cornelia “CP” Porte, and three precious grandchildren (Stephan, Sophie, and Justice). Sisters: Johnetta Minor, Gertrude Minor Nwaobi (Nigeria, West Africa), Adelaide Minor, Myra Morris, Elizabeth Minor Lavala (Henry), Tanis Harding (Italy), and Beatrice Martin.

Brothers: Alfred Minor,  Ernest Minor, and Edwin Minor (Tarlo); her only surviving aunt Melvinia King Okai (Liberia);  Several nieces including: Millie Minor Williams (Aryee), Ella Minor-Hooke (Rev. Clifford Hooke), Lydia Greene Mappy (Samuel), Loretta Jallah, Sia Briamah, and Massa Minor-Brown; several nephews and grand nephews. Several Cousins including: Grace B. Minor, Edith M. Addy, Elfreda Earley, Dolly Haynes Stevens, Laurentine (Tina) Bass (Liberia, West Africa), Yvette ‘T Lady’ Cephas, Henry Cephas, Yvonne McGee, Florence Haynes, Enoh Cash, Julia Williams and Isa Williams-Roberts.  Several in-laws including Josephus Williams; several friends including Marilyn Stevens-Bowles, Naomi Quagraine, Margenine B. Dennis and a   host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, USA and abroad; including her Monrovia College (M.C.) family.

Sophie was born unto the union of Deacon John Henry Minor and Mrs. Dolly King Minor who predeceased her. Sisters who predeceased her were: Cleo King, Marthan Minor, Frances Minor, Celestine Minor Brown, and Dolly Minor Briamah. Brothers who also predeceased her were: John Minor, Jr., William "Bill" Minor, James "JH" Lewis, Charles A. Minor and Buster A. Minor.
