The Honorable Christopher T. Minikon, Sr.
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts, yet with gratitude to God, we, the Minikon family, announce the death of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle, Ambassador Christopher T. Minikon, Sr.
This sad event occurred on July 4, 2019 in Rockville, Maryland, USA. He will be missed dearly and his memories will be cherished forever.
For over 50 years, Ambassador Minikon dedicated his career as a public servant of the Liberian Government in many capacities in Liberia at the State Department/Foreign Ministry and overseas (UN - NY, Korea, Paris, China, to name a few.) His career spans from the Tubman to Johnson-Sirleaf administrations. Prior to becoming a public servant, Amb. Minikon was a part-time instructor at Lott Carey Mission in Brewerville, B. W. Harris in Monrovia; St. Patrick’s High School in Monrovia and the Student Union Institute in Monrovia, of which he later became Principal. He was very active in the Sacred Heart Cathedral Catholic Church and was the first Grand President of the Liberia Grand Commandery, Worthy President and Noble Worthy Brother, Knights of St. John International, Sacred Heart Commandery #366.
Amb. Christopher T. Minikon, Sr. is survived by his wife, Bernadette M. Minikon, his Siblings, Gabriel Minikon, Eugene Minikon, Michael Minikon and Sarah Minikon; Children Renetta Cuino (Guilherme), Tuwlo Stewart (Yuku), Tanneh Minikon, Doris Minikon, Tinesi Minikon, Chris Minikon, Jr. (Natalie) and Miranda Minikon; Grandchildren, Tina Creolkpo, Gorpu Creolkpo, Christina Minikon, William Stewart, Abner Bropleh (Kylee), Renetta Cuino, Lauris Bropleh, Maya Edwards and Tarence Edwards; Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Anthony Moseh Minikon and Beatrice Tuwlo Minikon, his siblings Patrick Minikon, Francis Minikon, Sister Elizabeth Minikon and Cecelia Minikon.
