Mr. George D. Mensah
June 17, 1920 to September 23, 2012

The Mensah Family announces the peaceful passing of Mr. George Dovi Mensah in his 92nd year.  Our beloved patriarch, Papa, slipped away close to midnight on Sunday, September 23rd, 2012 in Minneapolis, MN with family at his bedside.  Family members who will continue to cherish the memories of this long and amazing life include his children: Bernice Gray-Snorton, Zinna Mensah-Zoe, Leonard D. Mensah, G. Tetteh Mensah (Jema), Michael A. Mensah (Rolanda); nephews Reuben K. Mensah (Benetta) and Benjamin Y. Davies (Barbara); five nieces, sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grand-children and a host of other relatives and friends in Liberia, Togo and the United States. 

Papa’s dearest wife of 58 years, Sarah Simpson-Mensah completed her journey home 27 years ago and welcomes him with open arms.  Sail Away Papa, Sail Home. 

Thank you and goodbye Papa.  We love you and we will surely miss you!
