 MOTHER DOROTHEA CHADDIE McCRUMADA
Sunrise May 26, 1934 - Sunset April 23, 2017
The McCrumada, Padmore, Awadjie and Chenoweth families announce with deepest regret the home-going of Dorothea Chaddie McCrumada, our beloved and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunty and cousin in her 82nd year. This event occurred at 145 - Back Cedar Lane, Warner Robins, Georgia, USA after a period of illness on April 23, 2017 at about 5pm with her children at her side. She was born to the union of the late Charles Napoleon McCrumada and Irene Elenora Chenoweth in Robertsport, Grand Cape Mount County, Liberia, West Africa; on May 26, 1934 as the 2nd child.
Dorothea obtained her primary and secondary education from the Robertsport School System and grew up in a Christian home. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. After high school, she relocated to Monrovia and faithfully served as a civil servant of the Liberian Government in the Bureau of Customs, and Department of Postal Services. She rose to the rank of Post Mistress for the City of Bentol, Liberia. Dorothea became a member of the First United Methodist Church of Monrovia where she serviced faithfully. She relocated to Germany in 1980 and remained there with her daughter Estella until 1990 when she relocated to Decatur, Georgia to her daughter Vickie. On December 31, 1995 after worshipping with the International Christian Fellowship for some time, she became a full member of the church. She was a faithful member, singing in the ICF Voices of Zion choir for many years until her passing.
She is survived by her children: Vickie McCrumada Pride (Stone Mount, GA); Estella Fatu Herrman (Warner Robins, GA); Dorothea “Teta” Padmore-Deih (Stone Mount, GA); Isaac “Junior” Padmore (Gbarnga, Liberia); Hardy Kodjo Awadjie (Tacoma, WA); Eric Wesley Davis (Browerville, Liberia); Thomas Kodjovi Awadjie (Stone Mount, GA); Merci Adjo Awadjie-Clark (Stone Mount, GA); 36 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Her brothers and sisters are: Matilda Ann Amor (Middlesex, England); Lorraine Vivinne McCrumada (Monrovia, Liberia); Charles Napoleon McCrumada (Monrovia, Liberia), and Clarence Bayo McCrummada (Monrovia, Liberia). 12 nephews and nieces, and cousins, Edmond Chenoweth, Florence Chenoweth, Lucretia Chenoweth, Robert McCrumada, A-Van Chenoweth, Esther Chenoweth, Clarence Chenoweth, Lucinda York, Ishmael Chenoweth, and other relatives and friends in Liberia and the United States of America. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed rest in perfect peace.
