The Mathies, Vincent, Malekebu, Leslie and Coleman families announce with profound regrets the home going of our beloved Ophelia Tootsie Mathies. This peaceful, yet sad transition occurred in Liberia on Tuesday, the 27th of May 2014. We are heartbroken beyond words at the loss of a beautiful, talented and determined darling mother, loving sister, caring Aunt, sweet grandmother and a gentle dear friend. Ophelia touched so many with her inspirational spirit, amazing smiles, warmth and generosity.

She leaves to mourn her loss her biological children; Owen Beresford Leslie, and Phillip Lawrence Leslie. Grandchildren; Pi'ayr and Gabrielle Leslie. Foster children; Rodney Swaray, Shiann Perkins, Tom S. Wilson and Fatu Cole. Siblings; Famatta Dukuly, Saku and Helena Watson, Joseph and Peeso Mathies, Sando and Joanna Davies, Alexander W. Mathies, Edith Mathies and Websterford Coleman. Aunts; Ruth Malekebu Brown, Myrline Cooper Gbarbea, Kartumu Cooper Boakai and Willietta Harding Mathies. Stepmom, Sophia Ross Urey; The Bates Family and a host of other relatives and friends in the United States , Liberia and Ghana.
