Sidibrima Joseph Massaquoi
The Massaquoi and Onikeh families announces with great sadness the passing their father, husband, uncle, nephew, brother and cousin.
Sidibrima Joseph Massaquoi was born August 20, 1949, in Blamah Massaquoi Village in Freetown Sierra Leone to the loving union of Joseph and Gina Massaquoi. He was the eldest of 13 children.
As a youth, Sidibrima accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in Freetown Sierra Leone. He started his primary education at the Bo Elementary school. He later attended The Albert Academy High School in Sierra Leone. Upon his completion of high school, he obtained a scholarship to attend the UNIVERSITY OF LIBERIA. Due to his academy excellence, Sidibrima was privileged to travel to the United States of America to attend University of Detroit. He graduated with a degree in medical Technology.
After graduating Sidibrima worked at the American embassy in Liberia and St. Joseph Catholic hospital. He also taught at Tubman National Medical Arts (TNIMA), and many institutions in Africa and the United States of America. Sidibrima was also an Entrepreneur, he owned Mass-Pharmacy in Monrovia Liberia. On June 8, 1991 he married the love of his life Edith Onkieh-Massaquoi. This union produced two children Joseph and Florence Massaquoi. Sidibrima was an anchor in the Massaquoi family and a mentor to those who sought his counsel. He loved to talk and never met a stranger to whom he couldn’t endear himself. He was a humble man who going to church, watching African moving and listening to music. Before his sudden illness, he enjoyed taking care of his grandchildren.
Sidibrima was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Gina Massaquoi, his son Sidibrima Massaquoi Jr. and daughter Florence Massaquoi.
Sidibrima leaves to cherish his memory; his loving and devoted wife Edith Massaquoi; his children Josephine, Joyce,
Sonnie, Tamika, Jessica, Tenneh, Moinama, Joseph, Franklyna, Festus, and Sidi. Fifteen grand-children, brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives and friends in the United States, Africa and Great Britain.
Sidibrima was called home to be with his Savior on June 17, 2020. He lived a blessed life. It was his desire for his friends and loved ones to remember the good times and celebrate them, for he believed he would see them again.
Sidibrima Joseph Massaquoi Sr., was a wonderful person and truly loved by all. He will surely be missed.
